Alumni Association

The strength of The University of New Mexico has always been rooted in its people and in the connections that endure long after graduation. Through the UNM Alumni Association, Lobos have opportunities to return, reconnect, continue learning, and help create opportunities for those who follow. Philanthropy strengthens those connections. It preserves the places that hold our shared history, brings new ideas and experiences to our community, and opens doors for the next generation. Together, these priorities reflect something fundamental about UNM: being a Lobo is not simply about the years we spend on campus. It is about the community we continue to build and the opportunities we create for one another.

Revitalization of Hodgin Hall
For generations of Lobos, Hodgin Hall has been more than a building. It is a place of memory, tradition, and belonging, a historic home where alumni return to celebrate milestones, renew friendships, and reconnect with The University of New Mexico. Today, Hodgin Hall Alumni Center continues to bring the Lobo community together for reunions, celebrations, meetings, and programs. It is also where students and new graduates can begin building a lifelong relationship with UNM. Preserving that legacy means caring for the place that holds it. Aging floors and windows, historic furnishings, and other building needs require attention to keep Hodgin Hall welcoming, functional, and accessible. Its revitalization will honor the generations who have gathered here while preparing this historic home for those still to come, ensuring that Lobos will always have a place on campus that feels like their own.

Access to Experts Lecture Series
Some of the most powerful learning happens when knowledge meets experience. The Access to Experts Lecture Series will bring accomplished leaders, innovators, and experts to UNM to share their ideas, experiences, and insights with students and alumni. Through conversations about leadership, career development, and the issues shaping our communities and professions, the series will extend learning beyond the classroom. Students will encounter perspectives that can broaden their ambitions and help them imagine new possibilities for their futures. Alumni will have new reasons to return to campus, continue learning, and remain connected to the intellectual life of the University. An endowed lecture series will make these experiences a lasting part of the Lobo community, bringing new voices to UNM and creating conversations that can inspire curiosity, leadership, and opportunity for generations.

 Young Alumni Scholarship
A UNM education can open one door after another. The Young Alumni Scholarship helps ensure that Lobos who choose to continue their education at The University of New Mexico have the opportunity to take that next step. The scholarship supports graduate students who earned their undergraduate degrees at UNM and returned to pursue advanced study. Many balance demanding coursework with teaching, research, employment, and family responsibilities, even as they contribute to the University's academic and research life. Scholarship support gives these students greater freedom to focus on their education, deepen their expertise, and prepare for the work they will carry into New Mexico and beyond. The UNM Young Alumni Board is building the scholarship toward a permanent endowment, creating a lasting tradition of Lobos investing in Lobos. With a current fundraising goal of $5,500 and a long-term goal of reaching the $25,000 applicable endowment minimum, each contribution brings that vision closer and helps more UNM graduates continue their journey at the university that helped them begin it.
