Early investments in this area have already delivered significant results, helping students gain valuable real-world experience, strengthen their leadership abilities, and develop the confidence to excel in their careers.
With your support, we will scale these high-impact opportunities and introduce new initiatives, including leadership workshops, expanded mentoring programs, and entrepreneurship and innovation programs that help students turn ideas into impact.

The Career Readiness Initiative will help every student navigate the path from the classroom to a meaningful career. Through expanded career coaching and peer mentoring, employer engagement, and internship opportunities, students will gain the skills, connections, and confidence needed to succeed in a competitive job market.
By strengthening career services and creating more opportunities to connect with alumni and industry leaders, we will provide students with personalized support throughout their academic and professional journeys.
Through philanthropic support, we will establish a dedicated Career Development Center, expand mentorship and career coaching programs, and increase access to internships and other essential experiences. Our goal is to ensure that every graduate of The James & Gail School of Business Leadership is prepared to contribute, lead, and thrive in the workforce.

By investing in faculty-led research, we will produce thought leadership that advances economic development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and business growth across the state and beyond.
Through targeted research funding, faculty will explore issues critical to New Mexico’s future, including healthcare, small business development, tribal enterprise, energy, emerging technologies, and other areas of regional importance. This work will generate practical solutions, enhance the student learning experience, and elevate the school's reputation as a leading source of business expertise.
Through support from our community, we will expand research opportunities for faculty and students and establish research hubs focused on key areas of impact. Together, these investments will position the school as a catalyst for innovation, economic growth, and community impact.
-

The Bridging the Gap: Making Education More Affordable Initiative will expand access to the opportunities that make a business education transformative. By increasing scholarship support, providing emergency financial assistance, and expanding access to experiential learning opportunities, we will help students stay on track to achieve their academic and professional goals.
This initiative is designed to reduce financial barriers that can limit student success, particularly for those balancing work, family responsibilities, and other challenges. It will also broaden access to national and international learning experiences that deepen students' understanding of business and leadership in a global economy.
Through philanthropic support, we can ensure that more students – regardless of financial circumstances – have the opportunity to learn, grow, and graduate prepared to make an impact in New Mexico and beyond.
